Getting to Know You: Introducing Personal Finance Managers and Cooperative Extension to Each Other

This is a free webinar hosted by the Personal Finance concentration area of the Military Families Learning Network.

This 90-minute webinar will focus on building community capacity among financial educators working with military service members. Community Capacity is the process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that organizations and communities need to thrive in the fast-changing world.
In this webinar, we will discuss programs and resources available to service members and families through each Military Servicesโ€™ financial readiness programs and the Cooperative Extension System. Representatives from each military branch of service's financial readiness office will speak about the best practices their PFMs are using in the field to educate service members. Dr. Barbara O'Neill will give an overview of resources available to PFMs through the Cooperative Extension system.

AFC-credentialed participants can earn 1.5 CEUs. More information about this process is available here. This webinar is approved for 1.5 general CEUs for FinCert Certified Personal Finance Counselors (CPFC).

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
