Learning Objectives
Participants will:
- Be introduced to the Youth Inclusion Implementation Guide (YIIG) and Module
- Be introduced to the model for adult learning within the YIIG (i.e. reflective practice)
- Learn how adult-youth relationships impact Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)
- Learn strategies for strengthening the impact adult-youth relationships have on DEI within the program
Presenters
Adeya Richmond, Ph.D., LP, works as the lead research scientist in the REACH Center. Aside from working on projects that focus on youth development and families, her primary research interests include cross-cultural diversity in parenting, racial identity, and youthβs prosocial behaviors. Her secondary research interests are mental and behavioral health disparities across diverse cultural and socioeconomic groups.
Mark Otto serves as the project's director for outreach in the REACH Center. He provides planning and implementation for both research and outreach and oversees the work of the technology staff. Mark has a BS from Mankato State University and a master's of public affairs from the Humphrey Institute at the University of Minnesota. He has more than 20 years of experience working with family, child, and youth programs.
