This webinar will discuss the definition of the term "refugee"; the numbers of refugees in the world today, as well as where they are and who is taking them in; humanitarian governance and the refugee camps; and the US asylum process.

Kayla Davis
is a graduate student in the Anthropology Department at the University of Tennessee. Before pursuing a career in Anthropology, she was an educator, teaching English in Uganda as well middle school, high school, and preschool in Tennessee. Her current research focuses on community activism surrounding the current migration crisis.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs.
