This session is being offered for applicators as well as those who need to gain a better understanding about pesticide labels. EPA-registered pesticide products have a product label, a master label, and a safety data sheet. What do you follow, how do you train your staff, and how do you address consumer’s questions when they inquire about the toxicity of the product you’re using? In this session, we will explain the difference between product and master labeling, information on SDS and training for staff.

This webinar is free of charge and open to all extension educators, regulators, agencies and centers,
clinicians, industry, commodity groups and other organizations interested in the topic. The webinar will be recorded and posted on www.pactmeeting.us along with all other resource materials.

Part of the Pesticide Applicator Certification and Training (PACT) webinar series. The 2020 PACT biennial meeting funded through a Cooperative Agreement between Michigan State University (MSU) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19.

The PACT Planning Committee did a great job developing a comprehensive and engaging agenda with several topics that are extremely relevant to COVID-19. As a result, the MSU–EPA Cooperative Agreement will be delivering a series of webinars based on PACT topics over this next year. This provides a unique opportunity for extension educators and other stakeholders to gain knowledge and benefit from the robust agenda developed by the Planning Committee.

The goal of PACT is to improve implementation of Certification of Pesticide Applicators Rule (40CFR171) and the Agricultural Worker Protection Standard Revision (40 CFR170) by state and tribal pesticide programs. This project has been funded wholly or in part by the United States Environmental Protection Agency under assistance agreement X8-83927401 to Michigan State University. Migrant Clinicians Network (MCN) and the National Pesticide Safety Education Center (NPSEC) are sub-awardees on the grant.

FAQs for Learn Calendar Users:

Will a recording be available?

That is entirely up to the host of this webinar/online event. If this is an Extension Foundation hosted event - we will update this calendar listing with a link to the recording usually within 48 hours. Keep in mind, many of the offerings found here in Connect Extension are brought to you by your colleagues across the system. While we encourage them to update their listings with recordings, it is entirely up to them.

How do I know if it is an Extension-hosted event?

eXtension posts publicly our events to two calendars - the Extension Foundation Member Calendar and the Opportunities for Cooperative Extension Calendar.  All other events coming from across Cooperative Extension are posted to the Learn Calendar or to one of the regional calendars. All calendars populate to the same main calendar on Connect Extension. To tell the difference between what events are posted to what calendars easily, you'll see the name of the calendar posted above the title of the event if you scroll to the top.
