Professional development for Extension agents: Nutrition Essentials and Family Nutrition modules are available on-line

Families, Food and Fitness is proud to host a webinar presented by Extension Nutrition Specialist, Dr. Sharon Robinson. Dr. Robinson will present two online nutrition modules and discuss how you can take advantage of this professional development opportunity.

The modules are self-paced on-line professional development and available for Extension County Agents and others who are wanting to improve or review basic nutrition concepts. Nutrition Essentials includes seven one hour modules on nutrient classes and includes an overview. The applied approach gives nutrition educators practical need to know information. An Introduction to Family Nutrition is a six module series which provides practical information on aspects of key nutrition issues and recommendations throughout the life cycle.

There is no charge to view these courses. The sessions were developed by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Specialistsβ€”all of whom are registered dietitians.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
