"Live from the Lodge", it’s Tech Tuesday!

Join us on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 for a webinar hosted by the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service live from the NAEPSDP conference at Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri. We will feature experts from across the country, discussing social media. The Tech Tuesday series is a regularly scheduled webinar covering all things technology for Arkansas Extension personnel, but on December 6th we are opening up the webinar to everyone.

Time: 11:00 AM – Noon (CST)

Topic: Social Media - So What? Perspectives from Across Extension

Presenters: Todd Hurt, University of Georgia; Kevin Andrews, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Karen Jeanette, Military Families Learning Network, and Diane Mashburn, University of Arkansas.

Session Description: Social media platforms have been around for over a decade now, which gives us pause to consider what value do they bring to our organizations and are we effectively measuring their impact to Extension programming?

In this webinar, our team of presenters will discuss their institutions’ purpose in using social media, how social media conversations may be used to drive programming, and which metrics are worth collecting. They will also look at different reporting systems, tools to aid in data collection, and how public value can be discovered through social media engagement.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
