Intro to Google Spreadsheets

Introduction to using spreadsheets, moving around, entering data and basic calculations. This is the first of a series to be continued on Feb 19 and 26, 2013. The next sessions will build on what you learn in this session as you start to build your own spreadsheets.

This is a hands-on session where you will be given time to experience and practice what is being taught.

This class will be taught using Google Drive Spreadsheets, but 95% of what is taught here will also apply to using Excel.

This class will be held using NCSU's Blackboard Collaborate. Go to: http://go.ncsu.edu/configuration to verify that you have the required software (Java). If you are using Mac OS 10.8, it indicates that that is an unsupported OS, but it will work fine.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
