Establish Online Presence in Your Virtual Network

There are countless ways Extension Educators can use online tools for informatic consumption, creation, collaboration, program delivery, and assessment.

The question is:  How do you establish an online presence using various virtual network and learning environments to effectively engage diverse team members, learners, and public audiences?

Online presence refers to how you present and portray yourself and establish connections with others in a technology mediated environment.

Jamie Loizzo will describe facilitation and instructional tips and tools for establishing online presence, as well as using mobile devices to create multimedia engagement via video and podcasts.

Jamie Loizzo is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Communication in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  Loizzo has professional experience in broadcasting and graduate degrees in Learning Design and Technology.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
