Rural landowners and attorneys who want to learn more about solar energy development can do so at the upcoming Solar Energy Leasing Program webinar. Slated for June 27, the webinar is geared toward landowners who may be approached for solar development, said Paul Goeringer, extension legal specialist in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, University of Maryland. The webinar will feature Dr. Shannon Ferrell, associate professor of agricultural law at Oklahoma State University.
“We want to provide landowners an opportunity to learn the basics of how solar energy fits into their current and future uses of their land,” said Ferrell, “We also want them to learn what it takes for the landowners and the developers to have a successful solar energy project and to help landowners make informed decisions when entering into a solar energy lease.”
