Are Viruses Lurking in Your Backyard Cherries?

This webinar is part of the 2019 series of Advanced Training Webinars for Master Gardeners sponsored by Oregon State University Extension.

Lauri Lutes, a PhD Candidate in OSU’s Department of Botany and Plant Pathology, has spent the past several years studying viruses and their diseases in Oregon. From pre-planting to long-term care, Lauri will review the basics of viral disease prevention and management for your backyard cherries, including topics on: choosing the best tree, common virus symptom identification, and virus vector (insect and nematode) management.

To wrap things up, Lauri will discuss her experience as a co-host of KBVR’s radio show, Inspiration Dissemination, where she interviews graduate students across campus about their research and journey to graduate school.
