America Saves

America Saves, initiative of the Consumer Federation of America, has the resources, tools, and supports to enhance the work you’re doing around saving and financial capability. In addition, hear how other Cooperative Extension Services across the country have engaged with America Saves and past America Saves Week.

Carolyn Pemberton joined America Saves in August 2018 as Senior Program Manager. In this role she is responsible for managing the Split to Save Program, assisting with the planning and implementation of America Saves Week and Military Saves Week and helping to develop new strategic partnerships and alliances. Prior to joining America Saves Carolyn worked as the program coordinator for the American Savings Education Council where she led the council’s work in educating the American public about the need to plan and save for retirement. Carolyn has more than 25 years’ experience in public relations, sales and nonprofit/association management working with the Employee Benefit Research Institute, The Society of Nuclear Medicine, Alexandria Hospital, Capitol Hill Hospital, and ConventionPlanit.She received her B.A. in Journalism from Pennsylvania State University.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
