2016 4-H Professional Development From Your Desk Session #2 "What Makes 4-H Camp-4-H Camp"

Presenter: Mike Jensen, Washington State University Extension

Please join me for an interactive discussion about 4-H Camp, an important delivery tool of the 4-H Youth Development program toolbox. We will explore current information on camp issues such as risk management, national accreditation, impact of legalized marijuana on youth camps, food safety and food sensitivity management, private/public partnerships for program funding and enhancement, and staff training. We will leverage the power of the Zoom platform for small group discussions. You will also learn how WSU Extension has been using zoom for everything from distance learning to connecting with local volunteers. Please come prepared to share your camp success stories and challenges and interact with colleagues. May the Forest Be with You!

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
