Hi there!  Just browsing through Connect and found this subgroup; figured I'd join from Maryland. We are a small team here, working together on Phase 4/Implementation phase to address adult vaccine hesitancy in two ways.

  • For one, we're by addressing cultural competency and communication skills among healthcare workers (specifically among providers and personnel within rural community-based health care centers or health departments). In two demographically different rural regions in Maryland, we're providing a one-hour training through in-person and online options, then measuring the effectiveness of both versions of the training.
  • We're also developing brief trainings-- or "new tool highlights"-- for Extension colleagues. These are quick intro tutorials on various technologies and/or tools (such as AI or LLM-based tools, apps, etc) where the "examples" are centered around adult vaccination and immunization messaging (and we're evaluating whether that messaging is picked up or not).

We have recently hired two interns to help with some aspects, and we're also working on finalization of the trainings we're to be delivering. We're incorporating a number of resources, including some of the highlights from the Washington State materials.

I'm fairly new to Connect, so will try to get in the habit of checking back in to see what updates/posts  might come in. I look forward to connecting and sharing resources with you!

Best,
