Ask Extension Experts

This is a group of Extension professionals and master volunteers who serve as "experts" in eXtension's "Ask Extension" system. This group will be used as a means of posting news about Ask Extension, as well as a way for the experts to share information with each other. It is a forum meant to supplement the information available at https://askhelp.extension.org.

Auto-Assign Setting

Those who viewed our How-To videos a few weeks ago may have missed some changes posted next to their respective videos.  Related to managing your profile, there is a new auto-assign setting not reflected in the screencast.  When questions are submitted to your group, they are auto-assigned on a round-robin basis to available experts within the group.  Some groups prefer that all questions go to an internal "question wrangler" who will then reassign them to other appropriate experts within the group. The setting you now find in your user profile is a check box on whether you want to participate in that auto-assignment process or not.  With this setting, you no longer should use the vacation status to prevent automatic question assignment.  Vacation now really means that; i.e., you are not available at all, not even for manual reassignments.  The following displays how you change your auto assign setting.

Create a table of contents

When writing a proposal, it is important to include a table of contents. This will allow the reader to quickly scan through the proposal and identify the sections of the document that will be discussed in detail. You can create a table of acs citation for the text itself or use the same format as for the table of figures. In either case, be sure to align the page numbers in the table of contents according to the order of the text.

About the Extension Foundation

The Extension Foundation was formed in 2006 by Extension Directors and Administrators. Today, the Foundation partners with Cooperative Extension through liaison roles and a formal plan of work with the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy (ECOP) to increase system capacity while providing programmatic services, and helping Extension programs scale and investigate new methods and models for implementing programs. The Foundation provides professional development to Cooperative Extension professionals and offers exclusive services to its members. In 2020 and 2021, the Extension Foundation has awarded 85% of its direct funding back to the Cooperative Extension System, 100% of funds are used to support Cooperative Extension initiatives.
