Intro to TRICARE Health Plans & Special Programs

Interested in learning more about TRICARE health care programs for service members, retirees, and their families around the world? OneOp will be partnering with the Defense Health Agency to provide a free professional development webinar on May 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM ET focusing on basic information and resources for military service providers and community support professionals. We recommend that military families with an individual with disabilities attend this webinar to better understand who qualifies for these programs and the benefits to which you are entitled. RSVP to join at TRICARE 101.

TRICARE provides coverage to all beneficiaries including health plans and special programs including TRICARE for Life (TFL), the Extended Care Health Option (ECHO), and the Autism Care Demonstration (ACD).

This webinar provides special emphasis on TFL, ECHO, and ACD, and how providers can better support families and caregivers as they navigate the TRICARE system. TFL is Medicare-wraparound coverage for TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries who have Medicare Part A and B. ECHO provides financial assistance to beneficiaries with special needs for an integrated set of services and supplies. ACD covers applied behavior analysis services authorized to target the core symptoms of autism spectrum disorder.

Upon completion of the webinar, participants should be able to…

  • Understand the differences between TRICARE health plans (TFL) and special programs (ECHO and ACD).
  • Identify who is eligible for these programs.
  • Review how to register or sign-up for TRICARE programs.
  • Identify what benefits are associated with these programs.

Presenters

Defense Health Agency (DHA) presenters include Anne Breslin, Program Manager for TRICARE for Life; Carmen De Leon, Nurse Consultant for TRICARE Health Plan/Clinical Oversight and Integration Section focusing on special needs programs; and Krystyna Bienia, Clinical Psychologist for Medical Affairs.
