2022 Academy on Social Justice Kicks Off June 1

Join us June 1 for the kickoff of OneOp’s 2022 Military Family Readiness Academy on social justice for family well-being.  The kickoff event will feature representatives from  USDA/NIFA and DoD to welcome attendees and encourage participation in the 2022 Academy series. Both will also speak to the importance of this topic for providers, military service members, and their families.

The 2022 Academy, Family Well-Being: Navigating the Social Justice Landscape, features high-quality content with diverse and respected course authors and experts in subjects such as social justice, racial equity, identity formation, media representation, resilience, engagement through an antiracist lens, and building communities of belonging.

Course Information:

In course 1, participants will examine the racialized, gendered and sexual histories of the United States; discover applicable solutions of well-being for family and community, and explore the five principles of social justice.

In course 2, participants will better understand prejudice and the impact of discrimination on individuals and families, explore ways racism and oppression operate at the personal, institutional, and structural levels, and consider responses to institutional discrimination as it appears in organizational policy and in the management and practice of human services.

In the third course, participants will discover how service providers can foster belonging and inclusion for military families, deepen their understanding of how social justice relates to military families, and how professionals can incorporate a social justice lens in their work.

These FREE courses offer participants attendance certificates and/or continuing education credits from various credentialing agencies.

Join the kickoff to register for and access the courses, hear from guest speakers AND become eligible for a copy of Dr. Shawn Ginwright’s book being raffled off supporting these topics, entitled The Four Pivots. Courses will be available to access June 1 after the event.
